John Ira LeDoux, passed away peacefully in the Jennings American Legion Hospital on Thusday, June 8, 2017. John was born in Cameron, LA., on October 26, 1925 to Adam and Lydia (Matt) LeDoux.
John proudly served his country during World War II, in the Army Air Corps. After leaving the armed services, he worked at PPG Industries for over thirty years as a supervisor in the power house.
John, or “Paw-Paw Do”, as he was affectionately referred to, was one of the kindest, gentlest and well-educated men you could ever have the pleasure of knowing. He loved to spend time with his family whether fishing, shrimping, hunting or just being outside next to the BBQ pit. John even went so far as to build a house boat for his family to enjoy – and enjoy they did! John was quick to do anything and everything for his family. Always the gentleman, never complaining – taking life in stride.
After retirement he worked for years as owner and operator of Videotronics, where he helped people preserve their memories by transferring VHS tapes to DVD. He also would video weddings and other special events.
John is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 63 years, Hazel Mae LeDoux, and his son Harvey Badon.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Sybol (Jerry) Trofinchuk, along with five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 10AM-2PM on Monday, June 12, 2017 at Johnson Funeral Home. A Rosary will be said at 1PM followed by the funeral service at 2PM. Interment will follow at Consolota Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
