John Lemaire, Jr.

July 6, 1929 — October 23, 2017

John Lee LeMaire, Jr., 88, of Sulphur passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, October 23, 2017.  He was born July 6, 1929 in Delcambre, LA.  John was a retired safety supervisor with Conoco.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.  John was a member of the Knights of Columbus council 3015, Eucharistic minister, altar server and usher for Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Sulphur.  He loved coaching Dixie Youth baseball and was an avid Sulphur Tor fan and St. Louis Cardinal fan.  John was a loving husband, dad, Paw and friend to so many.

John is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Tot LeMaire; daughters, Faye Jarnagin (Jim) of Lake Charles, Charlene “Shorts” LeMaire of Sulphur and Tanna Moses (Mark) of Baton Rouge; son, Chad LeMaire (Lisa) of Baton Rouge; 9 grandchildren, Matt (Lisette), Jake (Rebecca), Brad (Megan) Moses, Jennifer (Billy), Jimmy (Kathryn) Jarnagin, Lakyn, Blaine, Lee Ann and John Michael LeMaire; 7 great grandchildren, William, Caroline, Madeline, John David, Anne Marie, Brody and Nate; 2 brothers, Evans LeMaire and Teddy LeMaire; and 1 sister, Lucinda DuBois.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Ozia LeMaire; his son, John Lee LeMaire, III; and 3 sisters, Yolande Moss, Mary Lynn Richard and Olan LeMaire.

Services for John will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 11 AM at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Sulphur with Father Edward Richard, M.S. officiating.  Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines South.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 from 4-8 PM at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with a rosary at 6 PM and will resume on Thursday from 9 AM until time to leave for the church.
