Dr. John Wallace Noble, Jr.

Dr. John Wallace Noble, Jr., 61, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at home with his loving family by his side.

Born on September 22, 1964, John was the son of John Wallace Noble, Sr. and Michele Frensley Noble. A lifelong resident of Southwest Louisiana, he was known for his intelligence, compassion, unwavering work ethic, and deep devotion to his family, friends, patients, and faith.

John graduated from LaGrange High School in 1982 before attending McNeese State University, where he was a proud member of Kappa Alpha Order. He later continued his education at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans and dedicated more than three decades to the practice of orthopedic surgery in the Lake Charles area. As a highly respected physician, he cared for thousands of patients throughout Southwest Louisiana, helping them regain mobility, independence, and quality of life. His calm demeanor, surgical skill, and genuine concern for others earned him the trust and admiration of both patients and colleagues. Throughout his career, he maintained hospital affiliations across the region and was regarded as a leader in orthopedic care and made significant contributions to orthopedic research projects. He also took an active role in patient and physician advocacy, serving in multiple leadership roles in organizations at the state and regional level, including past president of both the Louisiana State Medical Society and the Louisiana Orthopaedic Association.

While he was deeply committed to his profession, John's greatest pride and joy was his family. He shared a beautiful marriage of nearly 31 years with the love of his life, Lucinda “Cinda” Noble. He was a devoted father to Madeline Noble Saxton and her husband, Sam, and to his son, John Wallace Noble III. He treasured every moment spent with his family and celebrated their accomplishments with immense pride.

John was known for his quick wit, generous spirit, and ability to make others feel at ease. Whether spending time with family and friends, cheering on his beloved McNeese State University Cowboys, enjoying the outdoors, or sharing stories around the dinner table, he lived life with gratitude and purpose. He believed deeply in serving others and led by example through kindness, humility, and integrity.

His commitment to service extended well beyond his medical practice. John was passionate about higher education and public service, proudly serving on the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors, where he worked to support educational opportunities and strengthen the future of Louisiana's students and institutions. His success in his career and community involvement led to his recognition in 2023 as the McNeese Distinguished Alumnus of the Year and in 2026 with the Southwest Louisiana Liberty Bell Award.

John’s faith was a guiding force throughout his life. He was a devoted member of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, where he faithfully served as a lector, and he was honored to serve as a Knight in the Order of Malta.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Lucinda “Cinda” Noble; his children, Madeline Noble Saxton (Sam) and John Wallace Noble III; and his father, John W. Noble.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Michele Frensley Noble; and his stepmother, Pamela O'Malley Noble.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 5495 Elliott Road, with Father Keith Pellerin serving as Celebrant. Visitation will be in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake Street, on the evening of Friday, June 19, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with a rosary being recited at 7:00 PM, and will resume on Saturday morning at 9:00 AM until leaving in procession to the church.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who offered prayers, support, and care during John's illness. They are especially grateful to Harbor Hospice and to Kay Joseph for the exceptional compassion, comfort, and care she provided during John's final days.
