John "Tee" Voris Hanks

John “Tee” Voris Hanks, 83, passed away on October 20, 2017. Tee loved sports, baseball, football, basketball, and especially the Yankees. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and Cajun French music. His pride and joy were his grandchildren.

Tee is survived by his wife of 59 years, Martha Istre Hanks of Sulphur; three children, Kurt Hanks and wife Donna of Carlyss, Ladelle Jackson and husband Jeff of College Station, and Lanette O’Quinn and husband Shawn of San Antonio; 8 grandchildren, Jeremiah Jackson and wife Brandi, Emily Jackson, Joshua Jackson and wife Mary, Elisabeth Jackson and fiancé Anthony, Derek Hanks, Ryan Hanks, Stephen O’Quinn and wife Kourtney, and Zachary O’Quinn; 3 great grandchildren, Ricky Sandoval, Bryan Sandoval, and Parker Jackson; 2 step grandchildren, Lucas and Joshua Broussard; 3 step great grandchildren, Dillenger, Savannah and Vivian Broussard; and his sister, Mary Esther Broussard and Ronald. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Margaret Hanks; 2 brothers, Harvey and Albert Hanks; a grandson, Nicholas O’Quinn; and 2 half siblings, Milton Hanks and Eula May Peshoff.

Pall bearers will be Jeremiah Jackson, Joshua Jackson, Derek Hanks, Ryan Hanks, Stephen O’Quinn and Zachary O’Quinn.  Honorary Pall bearers will be James Lanthier, Harry Ashworth, Shawn O’Quinn, Lucas Broussard and Joshua Broussard. 

 Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 2 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with Rev. Mickey Istre officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Jennings, LA under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2017 from 4-9 P.M. at the funeral home and will continue on Monday, October 23, at 9 A.M. until time of the service.
