John W. Breaux

John Willie Breaux, 94, of Sulphur, LA died Friday, October 21, 2016, surrounded by his loving family in the comfort of his home.

John was born on October 2, 1922, in Ged, LA to Herman and Agnes Breaux.  He was a humble and compassionate man that put the needs of others ahead of his own.  He retired as a welder from Olin Chemical.  Alongside his wife, Evelyn, he taught the Bible throughout Southwest Louisiana and Southeast Texas, also served congregations in nine other states from 1977 thru 2001.  He was a musician and played the violin, guitar, and harmonica for the enjoyment of family and friends.

He is survived by two children, Gary Breaux and his wife, Ruby, of Wallkill, NY and Roxie Doucet and husband Jimmie of Sulphur, LA; daughter-in-law, Maurene Breaux of Ocala, FL; three grandchildren, Jody Doucet and wife, Leslie, of Westlake, LA, Jon Doucet and wife, Lacey, of Sulphur, LA and Simone Breaux of Sulphur, LA; three great grandchildren, Kenley and Coy Doucet of Sulphur, LA and Emerson Breaux of Sulphur, LA; and a large spiritual family.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Evelyn Sweeney Breaux; son, Don Breaux; parents and two siblings.

A Memorial service will be at 3:00 PM Saturday, October 29, 2016, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 857 Sweeney Ln, Sulphur, LA.
