Mr. John Whitney Vincent, Jr., son of the late John Whitney Vincent and Bessie Emma Nunez, was born October 16, 1939. He was raised by his grandparents, John and Julie Nunez, in Cameron Parish, Louisiana. John was an oil field services contractor who enjoyed horses, the outdoors, and fried gulf oysters.
He is survived by his son, Johnny Keith Vincent, daughter-in-law Liana Vincent, and their children Ella, Zane, and Beau; his daughter, Julie Vincent Abalos, son-in-law Steve Abalos, and their children Hannah Quillin and husband Ronnie Quillin, Katie Abalos, and Steven Abalos; his daughter, Toni Citizen, son-in-law Nathan Citizen, and their children Hali Citizen and Sara Citizen; his daughter, Jodi Vincent Taylor, and her children Drake White and Baleigh White; and a host of loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Vincent, and his daughter, Christina Marie Vincent Bergeron, whom he will be buried next to in Beaumont, Texas.
John passed away surrounded by family on January 21, 2017 at Christus St. Patrick Hospital of Lake Charles. The family has requested a small, private funeral and wishes to thank all of those who cared for him, specifically his niece Tammy Vincent along with her daughters Karrie Fontenot and Brenlee Vincent, and the Resthaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lake Charles.
