Jennings – John Richard Wimbrow, born March 7, 1950, son of the late Roy and Audrey (Higginbotham) Wimbrow, passed away, Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at the age 72.
John enlisted in the United States Navy and worked as avionics technician until he retired from service after 21 years. He was a faithful member for 33 years of the Belle Chasse Masonic Lodge #469 F&AM, a graduate of Sowela Technical College and was of the Baptist Faith. John enjoyed fishing, playing dominos, spending time with his family and was a collector of many things.
Survivors are his wife, Melinda Pousson Wimbrow; sons, John Wimbrow, Jr. (Kim), Jason Wimbrow (Baylie), Allen Atkins (Kelly); 12 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roy Wimbrow, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Brandy Wimbrow.
Funeral services are Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 2 p.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Bro. Ray Wells will officiate. Cremation will follow the service under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation begins Saturday from 12 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m
