Iowa ~ Johnny Brooks Arrington, Sr., born in Baton Rouge on February 13, 1945, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the age of 79.
Johnny, a graduate of Iowa High School, faithfully served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church and was self-employed. Johnny enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and he could fix or build anything.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors are his wife of 56 years, Jane Arrington; children, Johnny Arrington, Jr. (Michelle), Jill Smith (Charlie), Katie Friend (Andy); 7 grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be in St. Raphael Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Anthony Fontenot, Celebrant. Burial will follow in the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Jennings. Visitation begins Tuesday in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume Wednesday from 8 a.m. until 10:15 a.m.
