Johnny Fontenot, Jr.

Johnny Fontenot, Jr., 71, died Sunday April 9th, 2017, due to Parkinson’s Disease in FernCrest Manor, a New Orleans care center.

Born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to John and Alzina Reeves Fontenot, Johnny was a long time resident of Lake Charles. He served his country in the U. S. Naval Reserve from 1966-1969. He was a self-employed contractor. Johnny had an independent spirit especially enjoyed riding his Harley with friends.

He is survived by one son, Wayde Fontenot and wife Rosie of Longville; one daughter, Julie Fontenot of Panama City Beach, Florida; four grandchildren, Christopher, Casey, Amanda and Slayde Fontenot; and two great grandchildren, Dinah Kay and Jacqueline Fontenot.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on April 14th, 2017 at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from noon until the time of service. Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
