Joseph Delma Bufford

Chloe – Joseph Delma Bufford, born June 13, 1948, son of the late Otto and Olite (Vincent) Bufford, passed away in his residence, surrounded by family, Monday, June 21, 2021 at the age 73.
Joe graduated from Iowa High School where he met his sweetheart and loving wife of 53 years and attended McNeese State University. Joe enlisted in the United States Navy and served on a submarine in Vietnam. He retired from Bellsouth and later worked in the TEL-COM industry, with his daughter, as an independent contractor. His greatest business venture, however, came in the last 15 years as a carpenter and partner to local cabinet makers. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church and attended St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Joe loved spending time with his family and looked forward to solving challenging projects with his neighbors and friends.
Survivors are his wife, Dianna LeBleu Bufford; daughter, Jennifer Wainwright (Jeff); brothers, Lee Bufford (Jolynn), Alcide Bufford (Lynn); grandchildren, Taylor, Tate and Lillie Wainwright. He is preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held in St. Raphael Catholic Church on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 10 a.m. Rev. Sam Orsot, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation begins Wednesday in the funeral home from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m., with a rosary at 6 p.m and a Divine Mercy Chaplet at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will resume Thursday in the funeral home from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
