Joseph Carl Nicholas

Joseph Carl Nicholas, 81, of Lake Charles, LA died at 1:00pm on Labor Day, September 2, 2013 in a local healthcare facility.

Mr. Nicholas served the United States Air Force. He worked many years for Nabisco as a Sales Representative in the Food Service Industry.

He leaves to honor his memory, two daughters, Patricia Tarbell and husband, Tim of Austin, Texas and Carol Callie Colson of Lake Charles, Louisiana; sisters, Joyce Bernard and Nelwyn Lakey of Louisiana, Norma Chesnutt and Glenda Trahan of Texas; Grandchildren Ashley Reed, Chase Petitjean and Rachel Hammond; Great-grandchildren Elisabeth Falgout, Cassidy Reed, Isaiah Gabriel Hammond, Megan and Conner Petitjean and Nicholas Reed.

He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-three years, Merlene Odom Nicholas and his son, Joseph Wayne Nicholas.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 3:00 PM Friday, September 13, 2013 at St. Henry Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow in Farquhar Cemetery.

Arrangements for cremation were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
