Joseph James "Joe" Istre

Joseph James “Joe” Istre, 56, of Lake Charles passed away, Thursday, October 20, 2016 at his home in Lake Charles.

Mr. Istre was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. He attended Barbe High School and was certified in Architectural Design. He worked his younger years in the service department of Shetler Lincoln Mercury and the past fifteen years as a night crew stocker and assembly man for Walmart on Nelson Road. Mr. Istre was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed fishing and riding bikes in the park with his daughters. He also enjoyed video games, mostly racing ones and loved the Beatles and John Lennon.

He leaves to remember him, three daughters, Lisa Istre Bousquet and husband Larry of Fort Mohabe, AZ, Courtney Istre of Lake Charles and Katie Istre and fiancé Cody of Vinton; five grandchildren, Aden, Jaxon and Owen Honegger, of Mohabe, AZ, Urijah Bousquet of Mohabe, AZ and Rainy Smith of Lake Charles; two brothers, Ronnie Istre and wife Raedonna of Lake Charles and Johnny Istre and wife Dori of Morgan City; four sisters, Rodna Clark and Peggy Fruge, of Lake Charles, Patricia Warren and husband Randy of Collins, MS and Molly Gibbs and husband Robert of Duson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rodney and Margaret Gahan Istre and one daughter, Jennifer Lynn Istre.

In respect of his wishes, Mr. Istre will have a private memorial gathering of family.
