Joseph "Jj" Jeffery Fontenot

Iowa – Joseph “JJ” Jeffery Fontenot, born in Kinder on November 30, 1983, son of the Donald and Susan (Manuel) Fontenot, passed away in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at the age of 40.
JJ worked at Rabideaux's for 23 years. He enjoyed playing video games, listening to music, watching wrestling, and spending time with family and friends. JJ always had a big smile and hug for everyone.
JJ is survived by his parents, Donald and Susan Fontenot; uncles, Jeffery “Bubba” Manuel, Kenneth Manuel (Shelly), Ronald Fontenot (Margaret), Matthew Fontenot (Julie); aunts, Donna Andrepont (Robert), Kathy Manuel, Carlyss Snyder, Celeste Landry (Danny); numerous cousins, and his pets, Marie and Boudreaux.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jeff and Mary Manuel, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Alvin and Sally Fontenot.
Funeral services are Friday, July 12, 2024 at 10 a.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Rev. Roland Vaughn will officiate. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume Friday from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. in the funeral home.
