Joseph "Joe" Pete Natali, 84, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 26, 1942, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Stephania "Nada" and Gene Paul Natali.
Joe graduated from McNeese State University with a bachelor's degree in education. He worked as an operator for Westlake Petrochemicals, where he dedicated many years before retiring. Joe was a true outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and spending time in nature. He was a generous man who was always there for his family and friends whenever they needed him. Joe never missed his children's rodeos and livestock show events, always cheering them on with pride.
Known affectionately by many as "Joe the Pro," he was a gifted poker player who always seemed to have luck on his side. He also found great joy in tending to his vegetable garden, where he could often be found working for hours each day. Joe will be remembered for his kind heart, generous spirit, quick wit, and the countless memories he created with those who loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Tammy Natali Hebert and husband, Shane, and Colleen Natali Savoie; grandchildren, Julia Hebert Nevela and husband, Nick, Hannah Hebert Trahan and husband, Tyler, Griffin Savoie, and Hayden Savoie; great-grandchildren, Noah Shane Nevela and Sarah Kate Nevela; brother, Stephen Natali and wife, Ursula; sister, Mary Jean Broussard; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife of more than twenty years, Julia Hogan Natali, and by his parents, Stephania "Nada" and Gene Paul Natali.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Seth Natali, Aaron Natali, Darian Broussard, Mark Atwell, Clint LaFleur, and Pat Morien. Honorary pallbearers are F.J. Sylvester, David Primeaux, and Richard "Speck" Lowery.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and will continue on Friday beginning at 1:00 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Joe will be laid to rest at Consolata Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to a scholarship established in Joe's honor.
