It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Joseph (Joe) Dean Simon Jr., who left this world on October 28, 2026, at the age of 64. Joe was born on March 5, 1962, in Sulphur, Louisiana to his parents Joseph Sr. & Judy Simon.
Joe was a devout Catholic and very strong in his faith. He spent several years as a carpenter building houses all around Calcasieu Parish. He loved to cook for his family and friends any chance he got. He loved to go shopping and could shop from sun up to sun down. In his younger days he loved to go dancing and would dance with anyone he had the chance to. His most treasured times were spent with his three beautiful children and three beautiful grandchildren. He loved spending time with his oldest son, Dillon, building things or just sitting outside talking about life. He loved the time he got to spend with his son Drew teaching him how to cook and build things. He shared a special bond over music and dancing with his daughter Emily and loved watching her play any chance he got. Joe’s love extended beyond his immediate family, welcoming his two daughters-in-law, Courtney & Torey Simon and cherishing his beloved grandchildren as Paw Paw. If you knew Joe you knew he loved to aggravate his siblings and children by picking on them and cracking jokes. You could never be around him without him making you laugh.
Joe is survived by his parents Joe Sr. & Judy Simon, his siblings Becky & Karl Matte, Brenda & Frank Cates, and David & Hope Simon: his children Dillon & Courtney Simon, Drew and Torey Simon, and Emily Simon and fiancé, Hunter Courville; and his grandchildren Kaycie, Knox & Brix Simon.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Elizabeth Simon; his grandchildren Jeremiah & Christian Simon; his grandma Evelyn Simon Vincent; his grandpa Wallace Simon; his grandparents Walter & Lucille Richard; and his uncle Larry “Bub” Richard.
