Joseph "Carroll" Soirez

March 3, 1953 — October 23, 2025

Joseph “Carroll” Soirez, age 72, passed away after a hard-fought battle with Alzheimer’s disease on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at his residence in Carencro surrounded by his family and loyal companion Moose. A native of Maurice and a longtime resident of Hackberry, Carroll and his wife moved to Moss Bluff, and after 19 years moved to Carencro.

Carroll dedicated his life to hard work and family. He began work as a welder and was a member of the 106 Plumbers and Steam Fitters. He served his community of Hackberry as a Deputy with the Cameron Parish Sheriff’s Office and later began his own business as an Owner Operator of C&S Trucking.

Carroll’s hobbies included cooking, listening to music, watching baseball, football, westerns, and spending time with his family. He never missed a game, performance, play, dance recital, awards ceremony, or event. Carroll was a true protector and a steadfast provider. Above all, he was an adoring husband, father, and grandfather whose greatest joy came from the love and laughter of his family.

He will be deeply missed and loved by his family and all who were blessed to know him.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Sheilah LaBauve Soirez of Carencro, LA; one son, Luke Soirez and wife Lauren of League City, TX; one daughter, Karissa Soirez Patin of Carencro, LA; one granddaughter, his “Baby Girl Forever” Karoline Alyse Patin of Carencro, LA; three sisters, Kattie Toups and husband Terry of Hackberry, LA, Lois Soirez of Hackberry, LA, Donna “Sissy” Hebert and husband Richard of Devers, TX; and Step-Mother Sadie Benoit of Hackberry, LA.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of Allegiance Hospice in Eunice, LA, for their extraordinary skills and unrelenting compassion while caring for Carroll during the last six weeks of his life.
