Joseph Randall Sonnier went to his eternal home on Wednesday, September 2, 2020. He was 80 years old. A retired carpenter he enjoyed fishing, French music, dancing and spending time with family and friends, especially his card-playing cousins.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories his friend Ms. Mary Shives, a daughter, Pamela S. Thibodeaux and friend, Keith Forestier; two sons, James David Sonnier, Sr. and wife Linda; Michael Joseph Sonnier, Sr. and friend Tova Hines; twelve grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; three brothers, four sisters and numerous family members, friends and loved ones. He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia LaLanne Sonnier, son Mark Wayne Sonnier, son-in-law Terry Thibodeaux, Sr. brother John Willie Sonnier, father Joseph Eddie Sonnier and step-mother Darnell VanVeckhoven Sonnier, mother Genevieve Peloquin Ingram and step-father, George Ingram.
A memorial service will be held at Lacassine Cemetery (St. John cemetery/church) on October 24th at 2pm. Reverend Kenneth Sonnier will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
