Joseph Anthony Spears, "JoJo" 15, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026. He was born on March 27, 2011, to Kimberly Guillory and Anthony Spears in Sulphur, Louisiana.

From the very beginning, Joseph brought love, laughter, and joy to everyone around him.

He was hilarious, loving, and always willing to help, with one of the biggest hearts anyone could ask for. His smile could light up any room, and his personality was one that could never be forgotten. Joseph had a way of making people laugh with his funny remarks, especially his signature, "Man, you trippin'!"-a phrase that will forever bring a smile to the faces of those who knew and loved him. From a young age, Joseph showed a love for sports and enjoyed playing recreational baseball and football. He was blessed to be coached by his uncles, Nathaniel Guillory Jr. and Dedrick Spears, as well as his cousin, Sergio Singleton, creating memories that will forever be cherished. Joseph was also a proud fan of the Golden State Warriors and loved supporting his favorite team. As he grew older, Joseph was just beginning to discover himself and find his way in this world.

For a while, you could often find him in his room playing his games, simply enjoying being a kid. Joseph was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, friend, uncle, student, and athlete. He was becoming the young man he was meant to be, and his laughter, smile, humor, kindness, and loving heart touched everyone around him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Kimberly Guillory; his father, Anthony Spears; his siblings, Jayden Guillory, Jordyn Guillory, and Paris Griffin; his nephew, Karsyn Reed; his grandmother, Debbie St. Mary (Stanley St. Mary); his grandmother, Ophelia Spears; his grandfather, Anthony Brown; his maternal aunts and uncles, Nathaniel Guillory Jr. (Whitney Guillory), Amber Guillory Higginbotham (Michael Higginbotham); his paternal aunts and uncles, Nicole LeBlanc, Daphne Nolan, Quinn Nolan, Latoya Pendleton, Antonio Pendleton, Dedrick Spears, Danielle Spears (Darrius Perry) and Anthony Jackson; along with a host of cousins, extended family, and friends who loved him dearly.
