Josie Marie "Dootsie" Benoit
December 25, 1940 — August 12, 2021
Iowa – Josie Marie “Dootsie” Benoit, born on December 25, 1940, daughter of the late Odel and Theresa Bellomo Benoit, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2021, at the age of 80.
Josie attended Sowela Technical College. She worked for 13 years at the City Court of Lake Charles as a deputy clerk, for Ms. Sam Kushner as her caregiver and lastly, as a housekeeper for Villa Marie Retirement Home. Work was her life, but she truly loved her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Ella Me Benoit Labby; J. D. “Sonny” Benoit, and Ann Benoit Dore`.
Dootsie is survived by her sisters, Mickey Benoit Prather, and Linda Benoit Ritter; numerous nieces and nephews; special great niece, Kenzie King.
Graveside services will be in Benoit Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Gary Evers officiating.
