On March 28, 1948, Clarence and Verna Mae Sonnier welcomed Joyce Ann Hupperich into their loving family. She was one of five children and was born in Jennings, LA.
She grew up in the Iowa area and attended Iowa High School. She possessed a free spirit but felt the calling to serve her Lord and Savior. She lived a simple life, one that brought much joy, her faith and family. Teaching of His word began with her children, leading them on the path of righteousness and faithfulness. When her children were younger, she enjoyed traveling with them and cooking large meals for them to enjoy.
She was a free spirit, something that led her to share the love of God with others after her children grew up. When she was not home with her family, you would find her hitting the road, any road, in any direction sharing the teachings of the Bible through her traveling ministry.
On May 7, 2021 she was welcomed into Heaven by her parents; a brother, Clarence S Sonnier; and a nephew, Donald James Sonnier, Jr.
Her legacy and faithfulness will live on through those she loved most; her children, Bridget (Christopher) Gordon, Tina Hernandez, Steve John Comeaux II, Courtney (Tony) George, Christine Santisteban, Carrie Daniels, Damian (Alissa) Willis, and Damion Willis; her seventeen grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren; a brother, Donald Sonnier Sr.; two sisters, Lerline Babineaux and Rita Lois Cradeur; as well as her many close friends and brothers and sisters in Christ.
The family will welcome friends at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 beginning at 5pm to 8pm. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home following her visitation services.
