Jroyed "Gerard" James Guillory
August 24, 1947 — September 2, 2017
Iowa – Gerard James Guillory was born in Eunice on August 24, 1947, the son of the late Delta and Elda Chapman Guillory, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2017 in Lake Charles.
He was a graduate of the University of Lafayette and Louisiana State University, where he received a Master’s degree in guidance counseling. Gerard was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in LeBleu Settlement and was a 1st degree Knight. He enjoyed reading, gardening and attending New Orleans Saints games.
Survivors are his wife of 52 years, Jo Ann Guillory; children, Melissa Conrad, Kirk Guillory, Joey Guillory, Robin Vidrine, Holly Huval, Shane Guillory and April Fruge; siblings, Glory Comeaux, Elmonia Sinitere and Ferrel Guillory; 25 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian burial is Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow in New Ritchie Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home, Iowa. Visitation is Monday in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home ~ Iowa, from 2 p.m. – 9 p.m., with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. and will resume Tuesday from 8 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
