Lacassine – Juanita Cherie Cormier, born May 21, 1958, daughter of Rodney and Grace Trahan, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018 in a local hospital, at the age of 59.
Funeral services will be in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa, Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Father Roland Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. and will resume Saturday from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m.
She is survived by her husband, Kirby Cormier, Jr.; mother, Grace Trahan; daughters, Mysti Cormier of Welsh and Amber Cormier of Fenton; sons, Shannon Cormier (Eugena) of Lacassine and Dominic Cormier (Raysha) of Welsh; siblings, Deanna Montgomery (Mark) of Lafayette and Gerald “Jay” Trahan (Bess) of Lafayette; 8 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, Rodney Trahan.
Cherie was a volunteer with the Lacassine & Fenton Fire Department for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all.
