Judith L. Suydam Reynolds

Our family lost our matriarch Saturday, July 23, 2022.  

She was the absolute light of our family! She was strong and brave and loved with all of her heart. She taught school for 28 years and was the best sixth grade science teacher ever. She was very smart, generous, and kind and had a great sense of humor. It has been said that she never met a stranger. She loved her family and Iowa United Methodist Church family very much, especially the once a month left over men’s breakfast. She also loved spending time with her beloved dogs. 

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Lees Young and Glen Haggart; grandchildren, Ben Howard (Dylan LaPointe), Hollie Howard, and Dillan Reed (Brittany); great grandchildren, Kaden Howard, Kenlie Howard, Jax Howard, Claire Miller, Elliot Reed, and Lane Reed; brother, Johnny Suydam; and beloved dogs, Chuck, Jimbeaux, Charlie, and Buzz. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Reynolds; father, Jack Suydam; and mother, Blanche (Nanny) Suydam. 

Her funeral service will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. David Dewitt will officiate. Burial will take place in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and will resume Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
