Judy Mabile

Judy Mae Clopton Mabile passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. She was born on July 30, 1947, in Miami, Oklahoma, to Bobby Clopton and Juanita Beason Clopton.

Over the years, Judy became a familiar face in the community through her work at local banks and several area restaurants. She enjoyed expressing her creativity through crocheting, painting, and a variety of other crafts, finding joy in making things with her hands and sharing them with those she loved.

Above all, Judy treasured her family. She shared 60 years of marriage with her beloved husband, A. J. Mabile, and found her greatest happiness in the time spent with those closest to her, especially her granddaughter, Haley Byrd, whom she adored. She also had a special place in her heart for her faithful companion, Rosie.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, A. J. Mabile; her daughters, Lynelle Taylor of Kountze, Texas, and Tina Byrd of Lumberton, Texas; her sisters, Jane Longfellow and Sandra Welch of Edmond, Oklahoma; her granddaughter, Haley Byrd; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Faye Clopton; her grandmother, Daisy Self; and her brother, Denzil Clopton.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, July 10, 2026, in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles, 4321 Lake Street, with Deacon Tony Pousson officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service, with a rosary to be recited at 11:00 a.m.
