Lake Charles – Julia Louise Gieger, born on December 22, 1961, daughter of the late Richard Allen Gieger, Sr. and Dorothy Ogea Gieger, passed away in a local hospital Saturday, February 24, 2018, at the age of 56.
Julia is survived by 2 sons, Ricky Deville, Jr. (Crystal) of LeBleu Settlement, Cory Deville (Jodi) of Lake Charles; step-children, Sandra Didelot (Van) and Jacob Bergeron, both of Lake Charles; siblings, Diane Shaw (Charles) of Tyler, Texas, Richard Allen Gieger, Jr. (Kathy) of Brandon, MS, Harry Elston Gieger (Cindy) of Warner Robins, GA, Steven Pearl Gieger (Larran) of Morgan City, LA, David Bradley Gieger (Rebekah) of LeBleu Settlement and Laurie Vidrine (Lonnie) of LeBleu Settlement; fiancé Darnel Chaisson; sister of the heart, Carol Day; 5 grandchildren and 6 step- grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren and being with her family & friends. Over the past year, she developed a love of riding horses.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Church in LeBleu Settlement on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in LeBleu Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home – Iowa, from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. and will resume Wednesday in the funeral home from 8 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.
