LeBleu Settlement ~ Julia Faye Humphery, born on April 8, 1954, daughter of the late Paul Elston and Julia (Lee) Ogea, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, July 4, 2021, at the age of 67.
Faye, a graduate of Iowa High School, worked for over 30 years for the Calcasieu Parish Juvenile Justice. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in LeBleu, where she sang in the church choir and was instrumental in starting the ladies devotional tea every year.
Faye enjoyed baking, camping, and traveling, but most of all, she loved serving others.
She is preceded in death by her parents; stepson, Jon Michael Humphery; siblings, Dorothy Gieger; Elias “Buddy” Ogea; Lyndon Ogea, and Alicia Ogea.
Faye is survived by her devoted husband of 39 years, John Humphery; son, David Humphery (Laura); daughter-in-law, Angela Humphery; siblings, Butch Perez; Maggie Hebert (Jerry); Mary Ann Bourque (A. J.); Lloyd Ogea (Sandra); Tommy Ogea (Phyllis); Paul Ogea (Becky); grandchildren, Alex; Riley; Jacob; Jeremy; Mirai and Gaon Humphery.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held in St. Joseph Catholic Church on Thursday, July 8, 2021, at 4 p.m. Rev. Aubrey Guilbeau, Celebrant. Cremation will follow the service under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Burial will be in LeFranc Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will begin in the church on Thursday from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m.
NO FOOD WILL BE ALLOWED AT THE CHURCH.
