Julia Faye Phillips Rossett, 96, of Ragley passed away at 7:25 AM on Sunday, March 17, 2024 in a Deridder nursing home.
Mrs. Rossett was born on February 20, 1928 in McAllister, OK and resided in Shreveport before moving to Ragley where she spent most of her life. She was a lifelong dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Gillis where she taught Sunday school for many years. Mrs. Rossett also belonged to the Eastern Star of Shriner’s.
She took pleasure in painting, gardening, reading, and cooking but the most important thing in her life was being the foundation of her family.
Those left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Jeanne Darbonne of Ragley; brother, Donnie Phillips of Arkansas; grandchildren, Joe Honshul of Ragley, Miranda Honshul (Rafelito Quinones) of Lake Charles; and Stephanie Higginbotham of Dequincy; and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, M.L. Rossett; parents, Beaulah and L.C. Phillips; daughter, Raynell Rossett; son, Rex Rossett; siblings, Harry and Pat Phillips; grandson, Bryan Honshul; and great granddaughter, Ashlea Richard.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at the First Baptist Church of Gillis. Rev. Glen George will officiate. The burial will be in Squyres-Risinger Memorial Park under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin in the church at 11:00 AM and continue until the start of the service.
