Julie Ann Whitsitt McQuilliams, 47, of Lake Charles died Tuesday, February 14, 2017.
Ms. McQuilliams was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. A graduate of Barbe High School, she worked in sales for the Lagniappe Magazine, managed the Charlestonian apartments and most recently was a server at Darrell’s. She enjoyed singing, karaoke, outdoors, barbeques, beaches, crabbing and fishing. Most importantly, Julie was a social butterfly; she loved people and especially loved her family. She never met a stranger, had a kind heart, a cheerful spirit and loved to make people laugh.
Ms. McQuilliams will never be forgotten. She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Justin Kelly LeBlanc of Boise, ID and Jason Bryan LeBlanc of Baton Rouge; her mother, Pamela Cormier of Lake Charles; brother, Eric Whitsitt and fiancé Heather Harrell of Baton Rouge; niece, Cecilia Whitsitt of Baton Rouge; aunt, Suzanne Cooper and husband Gary L., Sr. of Huffman, TX and five uncles, Warren Cormier, Jr. of Lake Charles, George Cormier of Westlake, James Cormier and wife Pam of Huffman, TX, Mark Cormier of Lake Charles and William Cormier and wife Beth of Channelview, TX. She also leaves her dear friend Angie Fry and her daughter, Sydnie Johnson of Lake Charles and many friends who adored her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Horace Jack Whitsitt, sister, Kimberly Ann Whitsitt and maternal grandparents, Warren, Sr. and Betty Cormier.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM Sunday, February 19, 2017 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation Sunday will be from 12:00 PM until 3:00 PM in the funeral home. Interment in Prien Memorial Park will be at a later date.
