Karen Baty Cain passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy illness on Monday, March 4, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. Karen was born December 1, 1950, to Burton Earl Baty, Sr. and Patricia Campbell Baty. She graduated from Sulphur High in 1969 and attended McNeese State University. Karen loved sewing, quilting, and her Saturday quilt shop day. She loved to worship and could be found every Sunday morning at the Prayer Culture Church. Karen enjoyed her Tuesdays with her group of friends at “play-day”.
Those left to cherish Karen’s memory are her husband, Lewis Cain; her daughters, Julie Cain LeLeux (Kris), Amy Ruth Cain, Loribeth Cain Dixson (Andrew); grandchildren, Jonathan LeLeux, Nicole LeLeux Lynch (Joshua), David LeLeux (Rebecca), Ellie LeLeux, and Aliette Dixson; sisters, Barbara (Babs) Baty, Jerrie Burgess; brothers, Burton Earl (Buddy) Baty, Edward Buryl Baty.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Judie Baty Kramer.
Funeral services for Karen will be held at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home on Friday, March 8, 2024, at 2 PM. Burial will follow at Big Woods Cemetery with Pastor Aaron Doxey officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday starting at 10 AM until the time of service.
