Karen Sue LeBlanc, 72, passed away on October 3, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 2, 1954, Karen was raised in Jennings, Louisiana, where she attended school and graduated in 1972. In 1974, she began her career with BellSouth, working as an operator and later as a material service coordinator. Karen was a dedicated employee who remained with the company for 31 years before retiring.
Karen shared 46 years of marriage with her husband, Felix Joseph LeBlanc. Together, they built a life centered around their family, and it was her family that would ultimately become Karen's greatest legacy.
Karen loved and cared for everyone around her. She had a way of making the people in her life feel loved and looked after, and nothing brought her greater joy than her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She cherished the time she spent with them and took great pride in watching her family grow. The memories she created and the lessons she shared throughout her life will continue to carry her family forward for years to come.
Those left to cherish Karen's memory include her husband of 46 years, Felix Joseph LeBlanc; her children, Justyn LaFosse (Tammy) and Joseph LeBlanc (Amy); her grandchildren, Andrew LaFosse, Kaitlyn Johnston (Nicholas), Johnathon Leger, Brodey LeBlanc, and Bailey LeBlanc; her great-grandchildren, Joseph Johnston, Aadaleigh Johnston, Justyn Johnston, Christian Johnston, and Nathaniel Johnston; her goddaughter, Jamie Pyle (Carl DeWayne Pyle)
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Alonzo Shell and Ola Mae Reynolds Shell; and her siblings, Linda Shell Bullock, Judy Touchet, Jimmy Shell, Steven Shell, James Shell, and Janis Shell Sonnier.
A funeral service for Karen will be held at 9:00 a.m. Friday, October 9, 2026, at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Jennings, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff, with a rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m.
