Katherine "Kathy" Murrell

Katherine “Kathy” Murrell, 61, of Sulphur passed away on November 2, 2017 in her residence. Kathy worked as a nurse at Cal-Cam Hospital and also as a hospice nurse. She was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, a past member of Krewe of Cosmos, enjoyed dancing, animals, plants and laughing. Kathy loved spending time with her family, friends, and especially her grandbabies.

Kathy is survived by her three children, Katrina Miller and husband Eric of Moss Bluff, Karah Wilson and husband Timmy of Carlyss, and Kyle Armer of Groves, TX; 6 grandchildren, Connor Wilson, Eli Armer, Jaxon Armer, Carter Wilson, Marlee Miller and Madden Miller; her siblings Charlie Guidry and wife Ann of Carlyss, Susie Bares and husband Brett Layne of Carlyss, Barry Guidry of Brentwood, CA, and Wally Guidry and wife Jennifer of Sulphur; her mother, Jeanette and step-father Cary Cormier; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kelvin Murrell and her father, Walter Guidry.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 10 A.M. at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Sulphur with Father Paul Jussen’ , M.S. officiating. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 5, 2017 from 4-9 P.M. with a Cursillo Rosary at 6 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with visitation continuing on Monday, November 6, at 8 A.M. until time of leaving for the church. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
