Katherine Ann Suarez

With sadness in our hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Katherine “Katy” Ann Butler Suarez at the age of 86. Katherine was born February 5, 1940 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Joe and Doris Butler, her two sons, Wayne Suarez and Bryant “Bear” Suarez.

She is survived by her son, Cubby Suarez of Sulphur, LA, her daughter-in-law Penny Young Suarez of Youngsville, LA. Grandchildren Kimberly Unkel of Youngsville, LA, Ben Suarez (Trista) of Sulphur, LA, and Stephanie Deville (Spencer) of Youngsville, LA.

She was blessed with four beautiful great-grandchildren Harper, Ty, Julia Suarez and Caroline Deville. They were the joys of her life.

Katherine spent most of her life between Ocean Springs, Mississippi and Sulphur, Louisiana where she resided until her death.

Katherine had a magnetic personality who never met a stranger. She had many friends throughout her life. The family would like to acknowledge two friends who have always remained and supported Katy. Lana Bertrand and Ida Reed hold a special place in our hearts for always loving our NaNa.

In accordance with Katy’s wishes, a private scattering of her ashes will occur in the place she loved most in the world. No public services will be held.
