Kathleen Fay Cradeur

Kathleen Fay Sarvaunt Cradeur, 93, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 7:22 PM on Sunday, November 5, 2017 in her residence.

 

Mrs. Cradeur was born September 14, 1924 in Lake Charles, LA, where she was a life-long resident. She attended Central School and Lake Charles High School and was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church. She was a member and past president of the VFW Post #2130 Ladies Auxiliary. Following Hurricane Audrey, she worked for the Calcasieu Parish Civil Defense in Lake Charles. During her younger years, she enjoyed dancing with her husband. She was an excellent cook and will be remember for her pies, selling many of them at St. Patrick Hospital.

 

She is survived by her sons, Danny Cradeur (JoAnn) and Gene Cradeur, all of Lake Charles; nine grandchildren, Paul Cradeur (Eunice), Chad Cradeur (Marla), Shelly Oden (Chad), Jared Cradeur (Candace), Denise Walker (Shane), Libbie Rhodes, Brad Cradeur (Kristy), Brandi Comeaux (Johnny), and Michelle Cradeur; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and others that loved her dearly, including her nephew, Dallas Cradeur and her beloved cat, Buddy.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward C. Cradeur; sons, Larry E. Cradeur, Jimmy Cradeur, and Jody Bernard Cradeur; grandchild, Donna Cradeur; parents, Robert and Lula Sarvaunt; two brothers; and three sisters.

 

Her funeral service will be held at 9:00 AM on Friday, November 10, 2017 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Marcus Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.

 

The family would like to express a special word of thanks to her caretaker, Bernita Garland; niece, Betty Gaspard, and Sarah McNeil for the care and compassion given.
