Kathy Crysel, born in Lafayette on December 16, 1957, daughter of the late Lenis and Gertie Abshire LaPointe, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2025, at the age of sixty-seven.
Kathy was a member of Living Water Ministries. She worked as a florist at Kroger’s for over thirty-six years. She enjoyed dancing, making floral arrangements, and spending time with family.
She is survived by her sister, Dorothy LaPointe (James Sattler); brothers, William LaPointe (Ruby), Robert LaPointe (Ashley); step daughters, Emma Crysel, Sherry Kramer (Christopher); nephews, Anthony LaCour (Karolyn), Brandon LaCour; niece, Katrina Aucoin (Michael; six grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; beloved pet Abby Gale.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harvey Crysel; son, Justin LaPointe.
Funeral services will be held in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 2 p.m. Jeff Kibbey, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation will begin Tuesday in the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
