Kathy Hepinstall Parks—poet, ๐˜“๐˜ˆ ๐˜›๐˜ช๐˜ฎ๐˜ฆ๐˜ด bestselling novelist, internationally award-winning advertising copywriter, off-color-joke-teller extraordinaire, funky dancer, lover of cats (who ignored her) and elderly people (who sometimes tolerated her)—left this world on August 17, 2025. She is survived by her loving husband Michael, her devoted mother Polly, her siblings, Randy, Margie, and Becky, their spouses, Michael’s sister Jaimie, and thirteen nieces and nephews who thought she was the funniest aunt who ever lived.

She published eight novels: The House of Gentle Men; The Absence of Nectar; The Prince of Lost Places; Blue Asylum; Sisters of Shiloh; The Book of Polly; The Lifeboat Clique; and Notes From My Captivity.

She will be interred at a graveside service at Havens Cemetery in Singer, Louisiana, next to her beloved grandmother, Rosella Havens Peddy, on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 11:00 AM.

Kathy will never be forgotten.
