Kathy Prudhomme

Kathy Prudhomme, of Lake Charles, passed away on October 11,2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 11, 1958, in Mobile, Alabama, to Gerald Kent Dolley Sr. and Vera Faye Pearson Dolley.

Kathy loved to go shopping and had a deep affection for country music, especially Gary Allan, whom she was thrilled to see live before she passed. She adored her grandchildren and was truly the glue of the family, always making sure everyone stayed connected. Kathy had a special love for her animals and was deeply cherished and spoiled by her loving husband throughout their 45 years of marriage.

Kathy is survived by her devoted husband, Richard Prudhomme; her children, Joshua Adam Prudhomme (Melissa Ortiz) and Tara Dawn Prudhomme; and her grandchildren, Jeremy Aaron Prudhomme, Brayden Michael Prudhomme, Evelyn Grace Prudhomme, and her adopted grandchildren, Zander Joseph Newsom, Ellie Mae Newsom, and Myka Grace Newsom.

She is also survived by her siblings, Gerald "Jerry" Dolley Jr. (Vicky), Kenneth "Kenny" Dolley, Violet Odom (Bo), and Darrell Dolley Sr. (Victoria); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Kathy will be lovingly remembered by her best friend, Darlene "Linda" Copeland, and her husband, Larry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald Kent Dolley Sr. and Vera Faye Pearson Dolley, and her son, Richard Aaron Prudhomme.

A funeral service in honor of Kathy will take place on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. Visitation will be held the same day beginning at 11:00 a.m. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home following the service.
