Keith William Atchison Jr.

Keith William Atchison, Jr.,81, passed away at a local hospital on November 29, 2017.

Mr. Atchison was the owner of Best Body Shop for twenty eight years until his retirement. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Downtown Lake Charles Optimist Club, The Bridge Club, and St. John Lutheran Church. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. He was a resident of Villa Maria Retirement Home in which he was President of the Resident’s Committee. He enjoyed duck hunting at Spoonbill City and watching sports on TV. He spent every morning reading his daily devotional, doing the Jumble and Sudoku in the newspaper. He will be remembered for his outrageous stories, jokes, and his boisterous laugh. Mr. Atchison loved being with his friends and family. Many friends called him “Preacher” or “Pretty Boy”.

He leaves four children to remember him, Rick Atchison and wife Lisa, Jeff Atchison and wife Andrea, Sue Goodeaux and husband Shawn, Kathy Hilliard and husband Mike; eight grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer, Leighanne, Brittney and husband Chris, Aimee and husband Trent, Dustin and wife Katelyn, Tyler, and Bayleigh; and seven great-grandchildren, Emily, T.J., Ella Jolie, Kaison, Kinsley, Cole, and Zoe.

He is preceded in death by his wife Beverly Atchison; parents, Keith and Anna Atchison; brother, David Atchison; and son Michael Atchison.

A funeral service will be held at St. John Lutheran Church at 1PM on Saturday, December 2, 2017. Pastor Charles Miller will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will begin at Johnson Funeral Home from 4PM to 9PM on Friday, December 1. Visitation will continue at the church Saturday morning at 10AM until the start of the service.
