Kemble Lee Guillory, 70, of Moss Bluff, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, October 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Guillory was born on August 20, 1955, in Jennings, Louisiana, and was raised in Sweetlake. He moved to Lake Charles in 1981 and later settled in Moss Bluff in 1997, where he made his home.
He was a graduate of Bell City High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from McNeese State University. Mr. Guillory retired from the United States Postal Service after a long and dedicated career as a rural carrier.
A man of many interests, he was an avid coin collector and proudly served as past president of two coin clubs. He also enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and reading.
Mr. Guillory was a faithful member of St. Theodore Catholic Church, where he belonged to the Knights of Columbus. He was also a longtime member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, where he served as an usher for many years.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 47 years, Gerry Ezernack Guillory; children, Ewell Guillory (Audrey), Camille Perkins (Brian), and Melissa Hite (Paul); brother, Donald “Don” Guillory (Roslyn); grandchildren, Roy, Aiden, Konnor, and Zachary Guillory, Brooke Newton, and Isaac, Tristan, and Maya Hite; and great grandchildren, Lacklyn Newton and Everlee Michelli.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Lela Guillory; father in law and mother in law, Francis and Mabel Ezernack; and a brother, Daniel “Danny” Guillory.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at St. Theodore Catholic Church. Father Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate. Burial will follow in Derouen-Lorraine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue in the church from 9:30 AM until the start of the mass.
