Kenneth Ray Bourgeois

January 8, 1936 — March 20, 2021

Iowa- Kenneth R. Bourgeois, born January 8, 1936, son of the late Dudley Adam and Lelia (Louviere) Bourgeois, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the age of 85.

Kenneth served honorably in the U. S. Army for 2 years. He retired from the maintenance department of the Calcasieu Parish School Board. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Iowa where he was a member of the United Methodist Men. Kenneth loved being with his family and friends and was a life-long New York Yankee fan.

He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, D. J. Bourgeois; Richard Bourgeois; Nola Jane Bourgeois Broussard and Ruth Bourgeois Johnson.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Roberta Cady Bourgeois; children, Rhonda Tomb (Kevin); Kimberly Meaux (Paul); grandchildren, Landon Tomb; Kelsey Carter (Caleb); Steven Paul Meaux; Bryce Meaux (Rachelle); Kayli Meaux; great-grandchildren, Tate Comeaux; Blake Meaux; Lyla Carter; sibling, Charles Bourgeois (Barbara); sisters-in-law, Christine Bourgeois; Yvonne Bourgeois.

Funeral services will be held in First United Methodist Church in Iowa, 301 S. Kinney, Iowa, LA, on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Doug Ezell and Rev. Dr. David Dewitt officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation begins in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa on Monday from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. in the funeral home and will resume Tuesday in the church from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Pallbearers assisting in his service are Steven Paul Meaux; Bryce Meaux; Landon Tomb; Caleb Carter; David Bourgeois and Ty Bourgeois. Tate Comeaux will serve as honorary.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of Iowa, Post Office Box 668, Iowa, LA 70647.

Per the request of the family, please no food in the funeral home.
