Kermith Roy Sonnier, Sr.

Kermith Roy Sonnier, Sr. 76, of Lake Charles, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at a hospital in Lafayette.  Kermith was born in Basile on July 30, 1947, to Simon and Leora Sonnier.  Kermith was a lifelong resident of Southwest Louisiana and enjoyed all the outdoor opportunities that came with it.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children; Sherman “Bobo” Sonnier (Jody), Chad Sonnier (Stephanie), Cecelia Marcantel (Bobby), step son; Scott Skibo (Mari Fuselier), siblings; Louise Stelly (Michael), Phillip Sonnier (Tonie), Kathaleen Hooper (Gerald), 9 grandchildren; Benji Collins, Steven Collins, Courtney Jellots, Pyper Sonnier, Jeremy Corrigan, Hunter Skibo, Hailey Skibo, Kaleigh Courville, Tabitha Courville, 4 greatgrandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; Betty Sonnier, son; Kermith Sonnier, Jr., brother; Freddie Sonnier and great grandson; Bentley Collins.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 2, 2024, from 2:00PM until 8:00PM with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00PM at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake St. Lake Charles, LA. 70605.  Visitation will continue Monday, June 3, 2024, from 9:00AM until 10:30AM also at the funeral home.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Monday, June 3, 2024, at 11:00AM at St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church, 5495 Elliott Rd. Lake Charles, LA. 70605.  Burial will follow the Mass at Consolata Cemetery.
