Kevin Brown Beatty, 74, of Lake Charles passed away peacefully at his home after a lengthy illness.
Kevin was a loving husband, father, son, and friend who cherished every moment spent with his family. He had a passion for NASCAR, enjoyed building computers and working with electronics, and loved photography. He was also a dedicated member of the Southwest Louisiana Repeater Club, where he served as a Ham Radio operator.
Kevin met the love of his life, Cindy, as a teenager at Trinity Baptist Church. From the moment he first saw her, he knew she would one day be his wife. That dream became reality when they married on May 1, 1971, sharing nearly 55 wonderful years together.
He gave his life to Jesus and was baptized at the age of seven. For many years, he was a member of Boulevard Baptist Church where he was ordained a deacon and served as sound technician. In 1986 his family joined and worshipped at Trinity Baptist Church. Even during times of illness, he remained connected to his church family by watching services each Sunday.
Kevin graduated from Acadia Baptist Academy in Eunice, Louisiana, and went on to attend McNeese State University, studying computer engineering. His strong work ethic began in his youth as a paper boy and continued throughout his life. He worked for Citgo, Parsons-Gilbane Construction in Saudi Arabia, and later dedicated 21 years to Calcasieu Marine National Bank (now Capital One Bank) in the IT Department before retiring.
Kevin will be remembered for his kind heart, gentle nature, and unwavering devotion to his family and faith.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Cindy; sister, Charlotte Dorroh; and many extended family members.
He was preceded in death by son, Jonathan Beatty; his parents, E.E. Beatty and Ruth and Joe Dorroh; brother, Ned Beatty; and a sister, Sue Dorroh.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, April 24, 2026 in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel in Lake Charles. Dr. David Rose will officiate. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and continue until the start of the service.
The family extends heartfelt appreciation to Kevin’s doctors and St. Joseph Hospice for their compassionate and loving care.
Memorial gifts may be made in Kevin’s honor to Trinity Baptist Church Missions Ministry, 1800 Country Club Rd., Lake Charles, LA 70605.
