Lana Koonce Chesson, 66, of Sulphur passed away on March 25, 2015 at a local hospital. Lana was a native and a life resident of Sulphur and Moss Bluff area. She was the first driver for Quickie Chickie in Lake Charles and served as a manager of Popeyes in Sulphur. Lana also served as an event coordinator for S R C. She was a beautiful lady with a warm and loving soul. Lana exhibited so much love to the community and to those that may have been without love from others. If anyone ever deserved an award for community outreach or key to the city it was most definitely her. Lana is survived by her 5 sons, James Koonce and wife Denise of Houston, TX, Todd Ardoin and wife Susan of Vidrine, LA, Chris Chesson and wife Tiffany of DeRidder, LA, John Chesson and wife Bridget of Lake Charles and Vaughn Chesson of Sulphur, LA; 2 daughters, Brenda Chesson of Lake Charles and Roxanne Chesson and Donald "Hottie" Doucet of Sulphur; 14 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; her furry son, and faithful companion, Claude Lee; a brother, Russell Koonce and wife Nettie of LeBleu Settlement; and her dear friends, Ms. Carla, Ms Rose and many others at Sulphur Retirement Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Chesson; a grandson, Chase Chesson; her parents, George and Verda Koonce; and numerous brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 11 A.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Old Ritchie Cemetery in Moss Bluff under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 27, 2015 from 4-9 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Saturday at 8 A.M. until time of the service.
