Hayes –Laris Joseph Borne, 80, passed away in a local hospital Monday, June 29, 2015.
Laris was born in Rayne to the late Ernest J. and Amelia (O’Blanc) Borne on September 25, 1934. He retired from Conoco and was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, in Bell City, LA.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Patricia “Patty” Borne; sons, Brian Borne (Trudy) of Bowling Green, KY, Marvin Borne (Diane) of Bell City, Lonnie Borne (Cynthia) of Hayes, Richard Borne (Delores) of Lacassine; daughter-in-law, Janet Borne of Nederland, TX; grandchildren, Shawn Borne, Kirk Borne, Barry Streets, Nicholas Borne, Jacob Borne, Kristen Borne, Richard Borne, Jr., Scot Borne, Kaleb Borne, Hannah Bornman and Rachel Cullia; 6 great-grandchildren; godchild ,Sheila Miller; nieces and nephews, Janet Mathis, Ricky LaCombe, and Michael LaCombe; and numerous nieces & nephews; sister-in-law, Phyllis Wilson; brother-in-laws, Ronald and Martin J. Fruge. Laris is preceded in death by his parents, son, Chris Borne; daughter-in-law, Vickie Borne and sister, Maudry LaCombe.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 8 p.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home – Iowa, LA with Father Emmanuel Tanu officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation is Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service; the rosary will be at 6 p.m.
