Larrie Weir

Larrie Weir, 84, of Iowa, LA, formerly of Ovid, MI, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at home surrounded by family and loved ones. He was born August 13, 1939 in St. Johns, MI and lived in the Shepardsville area until 1996. Mr. Weir was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corp.

He married Sharon Fenner in St. Johns, MI on February 24, 1959.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sharon Weir; 5 sons, Steve and Joyce Weir of Westlake, Lance and Bonnie Weir of Iowa, Scott and Lisa Weir, of Lake Charles, Lucas and Loui Weir of New Lothrop, MI, and Shawn Weir of Iowa; 7 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 2 fur babies.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Corabell (Bancroft) Weir; siblings, Maxine Mitchell, Wilma Fivecoat, Howard Weir, Jr., and Marjorie Martin.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 1, 2024 in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa at 1 p.m. James McCartney, officiant. A burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin Thursday in the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and resume Friday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Pallbearers assisting in his service are Lucas, Shawn, Scott, Dustin, Landon Weir, and Tanner Hoffpauir. Honorary will be Lance, Steve, Sawyer, and Ethan Weir, and Xander Dronette.
