LeBleu Settlement – Larry Courville, born on April 6, 1953, son of the late Avia and Idell (Benoit) Courville, passed away in a local hospital on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at the age of 67.
Larry was a graduate of Bell City High. He worked for Abell & Sons for over 20 years, also worked for LADOTD for over 10 years. In his younger years he was very active in the community with Knights of Columbus, Optimist Club, Boy Scout Master, and volunteer Fire Chief while living in Lacassine. He enjoyed wood working, gardening, cooking, raising chickens, drawing, and painting. Larry was a member of Grace Harbor Lighthouse Church, growing up he was raised catholic.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Freda Courville Myers, Patsy Nell Courville, Brenda Faye Courville; brother, Norman Courville; niece, Tammy Courville, Shirley Myers Streams; godchildren, Fred Myers, Jr., Steven Leger.
Larry is survived by his wife, Melinda LeBleu Courville; children, Larry James Courville and wife Erin, Pam Courville Langley and husband Kelly; step-children, Shellie Fontenot and husband Jerry, Duke Soileau and wife Tasha, Quincy Soileau and wife Brittany, Quentin Soileau; brother, Junior James Courville; sisters, Barbara Ann Leger, Tida Rose Courville Bourgeois and husband Joseph, Jr.; grandchildren, McKinley, Isabelle, Gabriel, Sebastian, Landon, Xander, Kristin, Allison, Jeffery, Abbie, Caleb, Shyann, Mattie, Hopie, Ethan; great-grandchildren, Layne, Grayson, Caden, Kyleigh, JoJo, Eillianna, Maddison, Chloe, Nadline; god-children, Joey Courville, Joseph Bourgeois, III, Mitchell Myers, Allison Bourque.
Funeral services will be held in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Rick Batchelor officiating. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Thursday in Johnson and Brown Funeral Home from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6 p.m. and resume on Friday from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m.
