Larry James Fontenot, Jr., born in Lake Charles, LA to Patricia Thibodeaux on January 4, 1968, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2023, at the age of 55.
Larry attended schools in Lake Charles, F.K. White, LaGrange High School and graduated from South Beauregard High School. He was a forklift and backhoe operator until his health declined. Larry enjoyed fishing and visiting with family and friends. His greatest enjoyment was spent with his grandkids. You could always find him hanging around outside. Larry was of the Baptist faith.
He is preceded in death by two daughters, Sunshine Marie Fontenot and Connie Sue Fontenot; his mother, Patricia Thibodeaux.
Left to cherish wonderful memories are his daughter, Bethany Fontenot; his sons, Larry (L.J.) Fontenot, III, Ethan Fontenot (Krishtan), Luke Fontenot; sister, Missy Veillon; brothers, Tim Thibodeaux, Eddie Veillon, Jr. (Carol), Jason Crosby (Heather), Gary Lynn Crosby (Nicole); grandchildren, Eden, Kaynan, Kayden, Kayson, Evelyn, Emmalynn, Nova, Emersyn, Rynleigh, Ryan, Easton, Kingslee; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; mother of his children, Frances Lovett Fontenot.
Memorial Services for Larry James Fontenot, Jr., 55 of Gillis will be held in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa, Monday, August 4, 2023 at 12 p.m., with Pastor Dwayne Daigle officiating. Gathering of family and friends will begin at 10 a.m. until the time of memorial service. The family has respected his wishes of cremation under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa.
