Larry J. Landry

Larry Landry Jr. was born on July 22, 1944, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to the late Johnny Landry Sr. and Mable Cating Landry.

Larry grew up in Hecker and Iowa, Louisiana, where he attended school and graduated in 1962. He loved the Lord and was baptized at an early age.

After graduating, Larry moved to Lake Charles and went to work at Muller’s Department Store, where he met Jeanie, who would become his wife and best friend. Larry and Jeanie were married in 1965 at Boulevard Baptist Church, where Larry was a faithful member for over 60 years. During that time, he served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and on numerous church committees.

Larry worked for Borden's Milk for 35 years, first as a route man and later as a supervisor. Larry and Jeanie eventually moved to Sulphur, where they raised their four children and where Larry also started his lawn care service.

Larry and Jeanie enjoyed traveling together, especially trips to Branson, Missouri, and taking cruises. When time allowed, Larry also enjoyed fishing and playing golf.

He was preceded in death by his parents and their son, Brian Keith Landry.

Those left to honor his memory include his loving wife, Jeanie Kline Landry; daughters Karen Young, Deborah Laughlin (Robbie), and Heidi Savoie; special granddaughter Kaley Trahan (Luke); sister Shaun Miller; sister-in-law Marie DeLaRosa (Jase); brother-in-law Bert Kline (Michelle); along with numerous cousins, friends, and neighbors who were always so helpful when needed.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Robbie and Deborah, who came every night, as well as to the nurses and CRNAs from Brighton Bridge, Rebecca and Dajha, for their compassionate care.

A funeral service for Larry will take place on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., with a graveside service to follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and continue until the start of the service.
