Larry North

Larry North, 72, of Lake Charles, LA. passed away at a local hospital on April 19, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.  Larry was born on February 12, 1945, in Lake Charles to George and Lois North.

Larry worked most of his life in the security business, working for Pinkerton Security and then for over 40 years as Captain of Security at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.  Larry was known as “Captain North” to his co-workers at the hospital.  Larry enjoyed fishing and camping in his “pop-up” at Holbrook Park and Lake Sam Rayburn.  He loved to meet up with “Boudreaux”, his fishing partner and co-worker.  Larry was a loving father, raising two daughters as a single father.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Those left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Rita (Dexter) Ramour and Melissa (Gary) Pruitt.  Also left to cherish his memory are his two sisters, Shirley (L.J.) Saltzman and Judy (Roger) Benoit along with four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive guests at Johnson Funeral Home on Friday, April 28, 2017 from 10AM until 2:00PM.  A Rosary will be held at 1:30PM.  Funeral services will begin at 2:00PM at the funeral home officiated by Deacon Glenn Viau.  Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery.
