Laura Lee Collier Thomas, 92, passed away in a local hospital on June 20, 2018.
She was born on September 13, 1925 in Nashville, TN to Arthur and Ola Mae Collier.
She will be remembered for being a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will also be remembered as a hard worker, a friend to everyone she met, the world’s best mother-in-law, and for her great sense of humor. She was a devoted member of Friendship Baptist Church. She loved her church family.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Barry Bryan Thomas, Sr. (Jackie) and Patricia Thomas Streeter; grandchildren, Jonni Streeter (Glynis), Jeffrey Streeter, Bryan Thomas (Lynn), Jill Holsclaw (Kirk), Kristi Thomas, Shonda Mhire (Roland), and Angel Veronie (Mark); 17 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren (and a third on the way); nephew, Jerry Trofinchuk (Sybol), and numerous other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; the father of her children, August A. Thomas; son-in-law, Tommy Streeter; great granddaughter, Kynli Miller; sister, Jennel Trofinchuk; brothers, Carl Collier, Zander Collier, and Vonder Collier; and companion, Tullio Ferretti.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. Nathan Nazworth will officiate. Burial will take place in Consolata Cemetery following the service under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 4 PM until 8 PM and will resume on Saturday from 9 AM until 11 AM.
