Welsh – Laura LeBlanc, 76, passed away in a local hospital on December 20, 2016, surrounded by her family.
Laura was born in Gueydan on January 23, 1940 to the late Theol and Olite Petry Vincent. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and loved all children. Most of all she loved Jesus and her Catholic faith. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lacassine.
Survivors include her husband, Max Wayne LeBlanc; sons, Keith LeBlanc (Kathy) of Sulphur, Wayne LeBlanc of Timpson, TX; daughters, Laura “Liz” E. Prejean (Randy) of Sulphur and Amelia “Amy” Anderson of Welsh; sisters, Dorothy Chiasson and Frances Guidry; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Gladys Newman and Sylvia Sonnier; brothers, Archie Vincent, L. J. Vincent, Anatole Vincent and Allen Vincent.
A Mass of Christian burial will be in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Rojo Antony officiating on Friday, December 23, 2016 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery. Visitation begins Thursday in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. and will resume Friday from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
